Tropical Stouts are less roasty and
bitter than other stouts and can be quite sweet without much roast or
bitterness. Think of the style as either a scaled-up dry and/or sweet
stout, or a scaled-down Imperial stout without the late hops.
Originally high-gravity stouts were brewed for tropical markets hence the term Tropical Stout. Some bottled export
(i.e. stronger) versions of dry or sweet stout also fit this profile.
Singapore Stout contains 6.6 lbs Malt extract, 3.75 lb of milled grain, dark Belgian Candi syrup, hops, priming sugar, fining agents and a Wyeast Activator smack pack.
Each Bacchus Batches kit is formulated to produce a specific style of beer. Since the quantity
and alpha acid in hops vary sometimes significantly from one year to
the next or from one bale to the next we adjust the varieties and
amounts of hops in Bacchus Batches kit to provide consistent results.
