Bacchus Batches Bacchus Pale Ale
For a beer to be called a Pale ale is somewhat misleading. First it is not very pale in color when compared to typical lagers and second the original English ale was an all malt beverage that contained no hops. The original pale ales are believed to have been first brewed in Burton England. The actual origin is unknown since this style evolved at a time when there were few written records and most of the brewing was carried out in the home or small brewpubs. Pale ale replaced porter and Britain's favorite beer and has held on to be the most important top-fermented obstacle to the domination of the beer world by lager styles.
