Bacchus Batches Wheat/Weizen
Wheat beer is a very popular summertime beverage around the world. Wheat beers are generally low to medium bodiedlow hop bitterness and flavor and low alcoholusually 3.5 to 4.2 percent. Germany produces a distinctive style of wheat beer called weizen. It has a characteristic phenolic spicy aroma and flavor produced by the weizen yeast that is often associated with clove. American wheat beers have a clean crisp flavor profile lacking any of the phenolic characteristic of weizen. What is most interesting is that the same recipe will produce either style of beer by just changing the yeast.
